Affordable Flat Screen TVs

Vizio HDTV

If you’re looking to switch to HDTV before the U.S. shuts off analog TV signals in February, here are a couple to consider, especially if you’re looking for a no-frills bargain.

Vizio flat screen TVs are recognized for leaving out expensive and fancy details, in exchange for more affordable prices.  The Vizio LCD HDTV above is a 22″ model with 1680 x 1050 resolution.  170 degree viewing angles accommodate viewing from many angles without distortion.  The Vizio LCD HDTV is available refurbished for $299 at Geeks.Com, or new for around $385.

Coby LCD TV

Here’s a Coby HDTV with a built-in side loading DVD player.  The 15 inch LCD TV is wall-mountable, and includes V-Chip parental controls.  I fount the Coby HDTV at 6th Avenue Electronics for $228.

Samsung HDTV with InfoLink RSS

Here’s a flat panel TV by Samsung that will finally enable you to live on the couch. The Samsung LN-52A650 comes with InfoLink technology which gives you access to the latest weather, news and sports updates. With a 52 inch screen, the HDTV uses Auto Motion Plus technology to nearly eliminate motion blur.

Here’s a cool feature- the TV can actually improve the quality of images regardless of the input source using the Samsung Digital Natural Image Engine. For example, if you have an outdated DVD player, the flat panel TV will automatically improve the DVD images to make them closer to film quality.

It comes in colors too. I like the red one shown above. I found the Samsung LN-52A650 at Vann’s for $2,129.98.
