Kingston Data Traveler-32GB USB Drive
If you’re limited by memory space constraints of your notebook computer, or if you are just plain embarrassed of a tiny little thumb drive that seemed pretty cool at the time you bought it, take a look at this new USB drive by Kingston. According to Gizmodo, the new gadget measures 3.06 inches X .9 inches X .47 inches.
I’m not sure how I feel about having to mess with a removable, “lose-able” cap- wouldn’t a retractible design, or connected cap have been better? Maybe the blaze orange color on this thing will be enough to keep you from losing it. Newegg.Com has the 32 GB Kingston Data Traveler USB drive listed at 79.99. The new gadget comes with a 5 year limited warranty on parts and labor.
Seems like prices on these storage gadgets are coming down a bit. I wonder how long before somebody’s tossing 1GB Barbie USB drives into Happy Meals?

New Wii Charger
Nintendo Wii fans know that those silicone Wiimote skins can be a pain when it comes to putting your controllers on a Wiimote charger, or switching back and forth between Wii accessories. This new Wiimote charger uses induction to charge your Wiimotes, meaning that there are no metal contacts, and it will charge your Wii controllers through their silicone protectors. Sounds convenient, but still a little weird, huh?
The Wii charger holds 2 Wiimotes, and a full charge lasts around 25 hours. Not sure when or where this new gadget is available, but I’m researching it. The InCharge battery pack was developed by TeknoCreations, a New Mexico based consumer electronics company. Source: Wiifanboy.

Cell Phone Signal Extender
It never fails- every time I walk upstairs in my home while talking on my cell phone, I lose my signal and the call gets dropped. That’s especially annoying since we are an all cellular household. While looking for some sort of a cell phone antenna to eliminate the problem, I ran across this new gadget. It’s a cell phone signal extender, and it works by picking up on the wireless signals entering your home and amplifying them to give you better cell phone reception.
The YX500 CEL, made by Wireless Extenders, looks a lot like a broadband wireless router. This model covers 1500-2500 sq. feet (even on 2 levels) and works with Cingular, Verizon, and Alltel phones with frequency ranges between 824 and 894 MHz. There are other models available for different frequencies and cellular carriers. Here’s more information about the YX500 CEL cell phone signal extender.

Who needs an old-fashioned telescope when you’ve got this new gadget? The Celestron SkyScout is a personal planetarium that uses GPS technology to identify stars and constellations. To identify a specific star, users point the device at the star and click. To find a star, planet or constellation, users select the name of the star from the SkyScout menu, and the personal planetarium uses GPS to generate arrows pointing the user in the right direction.
The SkyScout has an SD slot for inserting the optional guided sky tours, and the GPS planetarium can tell users the best stars for viewing based on the date and their exact location. More info on the Celestron SkyScout Personal Planetarium.

Wind Up Remote Control
Have you ever noticed that when the batteries are starting to get low on you TV remote control, you just press a little harder on the buttons to compensate for it? Now, instead of pushing harder, you can take out your low battery frustrations by winding…and winding some more.
This new gadget is a television remote control which is powered by an internal rechargeable battery that recharges when the user winds up the device. Fully charged after 30 winds, this universal remote control can control up to 6 of your electronic gadgets, including, TV, DVD player, cable or satellite TV box and more.
